Summer Vacation Part 3

Day 5  Monday 13 July

We left London headed to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare.  The town was very beautiful and less hectic than the busy streets of London. It was a nice peaceful day seeing where Shakespeare lived. 

I thought this bookworm reading was so adorable. This is located in the town centre and was just too precious.

The first place we saw was Hall's Croft. WS's eldest daughter, Susanna and her medical genius of a husband, Dr. Hall, lived in this house. This house is also located next to Holy Trinity Church, where WS is buried. The garden at this house was very enchanting.

Next we went to New Place - Nash's House. WS lived here from 1597 until his death in 1616. It has a beautiful Elizabethan-style garden that was created almost 80 years ago.

We definitely saved the best for last, William's birthplace. There was a great series of introduction videos, leading up to seeing the house. We actually saw the room where he was born. The flooring was the original from the early 1500's. Over 20 million people have walked on those original floors! 

We also saw a play by The Royal Shakespeare Company. The RSC performed The Winters Tale, which we saw that night. It was FANTASTIC!!! It was awesome and I would recommend seeing a play to anyone who comes to England.
