UP

After a bad day at work and finding out Ben had to go back to work for the night, I decided to work on some stuff for school. A few minutes in, the laminator broke and I decided to go to the movies. I looked up the times and realized that if I want to see UP, I had 10 minutes to get dressed, get money, and ride my bike to the movie theater. The theater was packed, which seemed odd for a Wednesday.

UP was one of the best Pixar movies I've seen in a while. It had a great message, made me laugh, made me cry, the whole bit. I just wish I could have seen it in 3-D. All in all, I paid $7.00, ticket was 4 and popcorn was 3.  During the week, life is pretty slow and "normal".  I love the weekends though because there are so many things to do. This weekend we are just going to be hanging out here. Next week, we are going to London to try and see Jordan again. I'm also planning on getting tickets to Wicked. We didn't get to see Buckingham Palace last time, so that is also a possibility.  We are still not sure when we are headed to Ireland, because of work scheduling conflicts. We'll keep you posted!

Twilight rant

This review has to be done.
When I first picked up the book, Twilight, I was not sure what to expect. I actually fell in love with a fictional character, Edward. I could not stop reading because I had to know what Edward was going to do next. He was a perfect person err..vampire. In the movie, I found that Edward was way more "under socialized" and just plain weird. He and Bella do not start getting "un-weird" until well into the movie. The chemistry was non-existent between them until the kiss scene and from then on. In the book, the chemistry between the two was constant and at any moment I felt like I was going to explode with madness because I wanted something to happen between them. The movie lacked the passion between Bella and Edward that existed all throughout the book. Edward also seemed rude and mean in the movie. Not how I had invisioned Edward at all.

Jacob. In the book, he was younger than Bella. He was a naive kid who had a crush on Bella. However, in the movie he seemed older and more mature. The only scene where he seemed as I pictured him was the last scene he was in, telling Bella to leave Edward. I did like the comment Edward made about the wolves when referring to Jacob. I think that was a good transition into New Moon.

Oh and I forgot to mention the ending of the movie. It was extremely unoriginal!! I've seen that scene in tons of other movies. For example, the Cinderella movie with Hilary Duff...same ending. Unoriginal.

Movie overall. The movie was extremely awkward and corny. There was so many scenes where there was awkward silences that, in the book...worked. A lot of times I found myself laughing at how dumb the movie was and other times I looked at Ben like, "Is this really happening"? I feel sorry for Ben for having to watch it, I pretty much begged him to let us watch my movie first.

The movie was awful and the more I think about it, it was abysmal. However, I will see New Moon BUT I'm reading the book first. If the same director of Twilight is directing New Moon it's going to be a flop as well.
